Ilse Plume is an internationally renowned children’s book author and illustrator who has illustrated stories from Italy, Latvia, Russia, and Sweden. Her first book, The Bremen Town Musicians, was a Caldecott Honor book.
Ilse’s newest book,”Henry and the Huckleberries: A Visit with Mr. Thoreau at Walden Pond,” written by Sally Sanford, was published in celebration of the bicentennial of the great naturalist, Henry David Thoreau.
Experience firsthand the wonder of children’s book creation in Ilse’s class, Illustrating Children’s Books: Beginning to Intermediate. You’ll work in a small-group environment to produce your own children’s book “dummy.”
Ilse has shown her work in exhibitions at the Concord Free Public Library and the DeCordova Museum in Massachusetts, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
